About this cheese
A hard cheese from France. This Comté Réserve has aged for at least 10 months, developing a beautifully balanced flavor profile: savory, nutty, and with a gentle sweetness that is the hallmark of great Comté. The texture is firm yet supple, with a slight elasticity that makes this cheese a real pleasure to eat.
Comté is the most-produced AOP cheese in France, and for good reason. The milk from Montbéliarde cows in the Jura gives the cheese a unique, terroir-driven character you won't find in any other cheese. The Réserve is the perfect entry point: complex enough to be captivating, yet mild enough to be wonderfully versatile.
Pairs well with: a glass of white Burgundy, a dry Jura wine, or a light amber beer. Delicious on its own on the cheese board, melted into a fondue, layered over a gratin, or tucked into a croque monsieur. Step up to the Aged Comté for the 16+ month version by Marcel Petite, or compare it with the Emmentaler.
