Allergen information
We think it's important that you know exactly what you eat. Below you'll find information about allergens in our cheese selection.
General
All cheeses in our selection contain milk and dairy products. This is inherent to cheese as a product. Additionally, some cheeses may contain mold cultures (particularly blue cheeses and soft cheeses with white mold rind). Our products are processed in an environment where nuts, spices and other allergens may also be present.
By milk type
Cow's milk
The majority of our selection is made from cow's milk. This applies to, among others, Gouda, farmhouse cheese, Gruyère, Emmentaler and Cheddar.
View in shopGoat's milk
Our goat cheeses are made from 100% goat's milk. Suitable if you want to avoid cow's milk, but not for a milk allergy.
View in shopSheep's milk
Cheeses like Manchego and Pecorino are made from sheep's milk. An alternative to cow's milk, with a rich, full flavor.
View in shopLactose intolerance
Good news: the older and harder the cheese, the less lactose. Cheeses aged for longer than 6 months (such as aged Gouda, Parmigiano Reggiano and Gruyère) naturally contain very little to no lactose. This is because lactose breaks down during the aging process by bacteria.
Suitable for lactose intolerance:
- Aged and extra-aged Gouda
- Parmigiano Reggiano
- Gruyère
- Aged farmhouse cheese
- Pecorino Romano
Nuts and other allergens
Some cheeses in our selection contain deliberately added ingredients such as walnuts, truffle, herbs (including mustard seed), pesto or nettle. These ingredients are listed on the product page of each cheese. Additionally, our cheeses are processed in an environment where nut traces may be present.
