Cheddar Vintage

Cheddar Vintage is traditional English cheddar in its original form: uncolored, with a natural ivory-white interior. This is how cheddar looked for centuries, long before the orange annatto coloring was introduced. The flavor is full and sharp, with the typical pronounced finish that makes this English classic so recognizable.

The texture is firm and compact, with a slight crumble that grows more pronounced with longer aging. Under the knife it breaks beautifully and gives every bite a distinct cheddar character. Compared with the orange cheddar (Cheddar Farmhouse), the flavor profile is virtually identical: the difference is mainly in the color and presentation on the cheese board.

Pairs well with: a glass of robust red wine, dark beer or English cider. Wonderful melted onto a burger, with chutney, or as a strong note on a mixed cheese board. Compare with the Cheddar Farmhouse for the orange variety.
