Subscriptions
Can I pause my subscription?
Absolutely! You can pause your subscription at any time through My Account. From there you can skip your next delivery or pause your subscription for a longer period. Perfect if you’re going on vacation, for example.
How do I change my subscription?
You can update your subscription through My Account. This includes changing your delivery frequency, the number of cheese pieces per box, or your subscription type. Please note that a delivery that has already been paid for can no longer be changed.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Flexible monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through My Account. Fixed-term subscriptions (3, 6 or 12 months) end automatically after the chosen period. The Fijnproever cheese box is also available as a one-time order.
Is there a minimum term for subscriptions?
Fixed-term subscriptions have a minimum term of 60 days. Flexible monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. This is how we keep prices low and offer you the best cheese.
What’s inside the Fijnproever cheese box?
Every month a surprising selection of 4 special cheeses: a mix of Dutch classics and European specialties. Each cheese comes with its own story, covering its origin, flavor profile and serving tips. Learn more about the cheese subscription.

Where can I find ingredients and nutritional information?
Ingredients and nutritional information are listed on the product page of each cheese in our webshop.
Can I order whole cheeses?
Of course, we’re happy to put together a custom quote for you. Get in touch via info@cheeseinabox.nl or call us at 06 380 140 66.
Do you sell to businesses?
Absolutely, we provide custom quotes for orders from €150. Get in touch via info@cheeseinabox.nl.
Why isn’t my discount code working?
Your discount code may have expired or may not be valid in combination with a subscription. Reach out via info@cheeseinabox.nl and we’ll look into it for you.
Will I receive an invoice with my order?
We don’t include invoices as standard. Need one anyway? Email your order number to info@cheeseinabox.nl and we’ll send it over.
Cheese & Storage
How long does the cheese keep?
Vacuum-sealed cheese keeps for at least 7 weeks. Once you’ve opened the packaging, we recommend eating the cheese within 7 days for the best flavor. Store it in the cheese paper provided, in the refrigerator.
What’s the best way to store cheese?
Only remove the cheese from its vacuum packaging when you’re ready to cut into it. After that, store it in the cheese paper provided, in the refrigerator. Tip: take the cheese out of the fridge half an hour before serving. The flavors come through best at room temperature.
Do you include cheese paper with orders?
Yes, always. Every order comes with complimentary cheese paper. Cheese paper lets the cheese breathe and prevents it from drying out.
My cheese weighs less than I ordered. How is that possible?
All cutting is done by hand. We always aim to be as accurate as possible, but small variations can occur. You always pay for the exact weight you receive.
My cheese tastes different from last time. Is that normal?
Yes, cheese is a natural product. The flavor can vary from season to season and from one batch to the next, depending on the grass, the milk and the aging process. That’s what makes every cheese unique.
Can I eat farmhouse cheese during pregnancy?
Farmhouse cheese is made from raw milk. The RIVM advises against eating raw-milk cheese during pregnancy. Browse our pregnancy-safe cheeses for safe alternatives. Farm cheese made from thermized milk is safe to eat.
Delivery
How is my cheese packaged?
We cut your cheese fresh and vacuum-seal it straight away. It’s then shipped in a cardboard box to keep everything well protected in transit.
Do you deliver throughout the Netherlands?
Absolutely, we deliver throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and by now virtually all of Europe. We ship via PostNL (Netherlands and Belgium) or DPD (other countries). More about shipping.
Does the cheese box fit through the mailbox?
Our smaller boxes are delivered as letterbox mail, so you don’t need to be home. Larger orders are delivered as a parcel by PostNL.
When will my order be delivered?
We ship on Mondays and Thursdays. PostNL aims to deliver your parcel the next business day. For subscriptions, you’ll receive your cheese at fixed times based on your chosen frequency.
I haven’t received my delivery. What now?
First check your track & trace, as your parcel may have been left at a PostNL or DPD service point. If that doesn’t explain it, get in touch via info@cheeseinabox.nl and we’ll sort it out.
Do you deliver in hot weather?
Yes. Vacuum-sealed cheese handles a day without refrigeration just fine. If your cheese has softened in the heat, don’t worry: pop it in the fridge and it will fully recover.
