Nettle cheese

This stinging nettle cheese is a Dutch Goudse made from cow’s milk, semi-mature and therefore supple in texture. The creamy, semi-hard cheese is made with dried stinging nettles, which give it small green flecks and an earthy, herby note. You first taste the soft, full-bodied base of the cheese, then the nettles add a subtly savory undertone that keeps you reaching for the next bite.

The cheese slices easily and melts gently on the palate, with just enough body to make it satisfying to chew. Great on a slice of bread, and it also works beautifully on a cheese board where those green flecks immediately catch the eye. Because it’s made from pasteurized milk, it’s perfectly safe to eat during pregnancy.
