Comté Reservé

Comté Reservé

Comté Reservé is a French mountain cheese made from raw cow’s milk, aged for at least 18 months in natural caves. That long aging comes through in every bite: a refined, intensely rich flavor that’s nutty and pleasantly herbaceous at the same time, with a creamy character that lingers. The texture is firm but not dry, and you’ll sometimes find the small crystals you’d expect from an aged cheese.

It’s no coincidence that this is the best-selling AOP cheese in France. Comté is incredibly versatile: cut it into cubes on a charcuterie and cheese board, layer a slice on a good piece of bread, or use it as a melting cheese in a fondue or gratin, where it melts down beautifully. A true table cheese that works just as well as a dessert cheese.
